Short Term Rental Guide to Safe Practices for Real Estate Agents in Delaware - more info here

COVID-19 Related Certification

Beginning March 30, 2020, Governor Carney has ordered all out-of-state travelers coming to Delaware to immediately self-quarantine for fourteen (14) days upon arrival in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our State.

There is currently a Shelter-in Place order in effect until May 15, 2020, which includes the closure of non-essential businesses, beaches and boardwalks.

While we continue to support our community in their efforts to fight COVID-19 exposure and spread, we will also do our best to keep you informed as it pertains to upcoming reservations.

There are no Orders, as of today, that impact our traditional Summer Season dates although this may change in the future.

The health and safety of our homeowners and guests is the number one priority at Crowley Associates Realty, Inc. As a valued member of the Crowley family, we want to keep you informed of the steps we are taking to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact it will have on our summer rental season.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and follow the guidance put forth by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), plus the travel advisories sent out by the government. As this situation evolves, we will share any information relating to the Delaware coast and the impact the virus will have on summer rentals.

Governor John Carney on Sunday issued the fourth and fifth modifications to his State of Emergency declaration, ordering Delawareans to stay at home and closing all non-essential businesses in Delaware to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

The orders go into effect at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. They will remain in effect until May 15 or until the public health threat is eliminated.

Under this order Crowley Associates Realty will remain operational via remote home offices with office staff being in our Bethany Beach location Monday – Saturday from 8am -9am to support property management functions and vendors in need of keys for repairs and maintenance.

We have had several phone calls from tenants expressing concerns about our policies with reference to cancellations and the steps we will be taking to enhance safety concerns. It will be business as usual with our cancellation policy and trip insurance is available with every lease.

In reference to cleaning and sanitizing, it is our policy to employ enhanced cleaning procedures and follow recommended CDC guidelines. By this, we mean that we will be hiring a Quality Assurance Team who will inspect each property and provide extra cleaning using bleach based products on all remotes, doorknobs, light switches, countertops – any place someone may touch. These additional steps will ensure that each home is cleaned and ready for your guests to enjoy a worry-free vacation.

We are also asking each homeowner to supply enough HVAC filters so that the filter can be changed every 2 weeks. This may seem slightly aggressive, but we are looking to set high standards to demonstrate the fact that we are serious about maintaining a healthy atmosphere in the home.

Over the next week we will be implementing an enhanced informational section on our website at to feature the precautions we are taking and to post any additional resources related to this issue. If you have any questions, please call us at 1-800-732-7433.
